In Celebration of

Albert B. Casuga

April 29, 1943 -  November 8, 2024

Albert B. Casuga passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on November 8, 2024, at the age of 81.

Cherished husband of 61 years to the love of his life, Veronica.

Proud father to Angeli, Alardyce (Ignacio), Albert Beau (Sophia), April (Alvin), and Adele (Martin), and a devoted, doting "Lolo" to 12 grandchildren, Julian (predeceased), Diana, Daniel, Matthew, Taylor, Megan, Michael, Sydney, Chloé, Louis, Marie, and Henri.

Albert graduated magna cum laude from the University of Santo Tomas and taught English literature at San Beda University and De La Salle University. After a long and prolific career as a professor of English, and writer in the Philippines, he later served as a trustee at the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. As an author, poet-laureate, literary critic, artist, and cartoonist, Albert was a passionate advocate for quality, publicly funded Catholic education.

He found his greatest joy in his family. Each of his children and grandchildren carry special memories of a Lolo who saw them as perfect, exactly as they are, and celebrated their every accomplishment with boundless pride. A teacher at heart, always. His love of artistry, his strength, and his playful nature will live on through them.

Albert passed with the sun shining on his face and his loved ones all around him. We know there’s karaoke in heaven, Dad. Have *My Way* and *Moon River* queued up, ready for our next duet.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Ian Anderson House for their loving care, which helped make Albert’s passing into eternal life peaceful.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Neweduk- Erin Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga on Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m.

Memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 2473 Thorn Lodge Drive, Mississauga on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make a donation in Albert’s honour to Ian Anderson House.
