In Celebration of

Alan Harold Smith

October 29, 1946 -  March 6, 2023

Passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by love, on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the age of 76.
Loving husband of Marion and proud father of Lee-Anne (Sang) and Glenn (Vivien). Al’s grandchildren, Eddie and Lia, and Theo and Xavier brought him so much joy. Al’s friends will remember him as an avid golfer and a lover of hockey, curling, and cottage life. We would like to thank the Care Partner Nurses and other health professionals who helped him through his brave struggle with pancreatic cancer. For those who wish, donations may be made to Trillium Health Partners or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Cremation arrangements entrusted to the Turner & Porter Neweduk-Erin Mills Chapel.

It was my pleasure to get to know and be come friends with Al on the golf course. He made golfing more pleasurable and had a great sense of humor.

I first met Al when he joined Chalet Golfers and got very close to him when he joined the executive. Wish that we had met years before as he became such a special friend. Last summer was so very special for me as I became his chauffeur on the golf course. Al became the brother that I wished for. My thoughts and prayers are for the very large hole his passing will leave for Marion and the family.

Al was a great friend, mentor, coach and a very special person to me.
I will miss your friendship, smile, patience and your constant reminders to "keep your head down"..."slow down your back swing"... "follow through".. and my favorite..."play it like a five". As well I miss not having you at our Book Clubs. They will never be the same.
My sincere condolences go out to your wife, children, grandchildren and the rest of your family members who will miss you the most.
Rest In Peace my friend. You have earned it after fighting a courageous battle.
Mike
