In Celebration of

A.D. (Venu) Venugopal

July 2, 1930 -  March 7, 2021

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our dear “Pappa” A.D. (Venu) Venugopal on Sunday March 7, 2021 at the age of 90.

Beloved husband of Sulochana. Loving father of Matt (Marja), Vin (Naomi), Vinay (Hagit), and Anita (Jamie). Cherished and adored grandfather of Micah, Marla, Matti, Maija, Scott, Tyler, Ilan and Maya. Pappa will be dearly missed by his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and many extended family members and friends.

Pappa was born in India on July 2, 1930 and immigrated to Canada in 1964 to provide a better life for his new family. Pappa settled in Sudbury and had a long and distinguished career at the Ministry of Education. He enjoyed his retirement years in Mississauga and treasured the time he spent with his 8 grandchildren.

Pappa was a voracious reader who loved his books and newspapers, he was an avid history buff, gifted storyteller, crossword puzzle expert (always in ink), talented gardener, bird watcher and pretty handy around the kitchen. Pappa was intelligent and inquisitive and his wisdom and knowledge made him a wealthy source of information and advice. He was deeply respected and admired by all who knew him. His irrepressible spirit, humour, passion and brilliance will be missed.

What he wanted most was to be surrounded by his beloved wife, children and grandchildren.

We love you Pappa!

A private family service will be held this week and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
