In Celebration of

Zvonimir “Zvonko” Martin Blazevic

March 27, 1940 -  July 15, 2022

Peacefully with his loving family by his side, Zvonimir Martin passed away on July 15, 2022. Born in Zagreb, Croatia. Predeceased by his parents, Luka and Evica and sisters Mira, Zdenka, and Zlata. Beloved husband for 52 years to wife Victoria (née Senzel). Cherished father to Paul (Caroline) and Eva. Proud Didi to Victoria and Peter. Growing up in Croatia, Zvonko was an avid athlete where he played many sports but found that soccer and European handball were his passion. Through sport he was able to travel across Europe thus satisfying his hunger for travel and knowledge of the world around him. Zvonko arrived in Canada for a better life in 1968 and settled in Toronto. It was in Toronto where he met the love of his life, Victoria. After moving to Mississauga in the mid-70s, Zvonko began to share his love of soccer by volunteering as a coach with Dixie Soccer Club, and eventually, refereeing. Zvonko was a faithful parishioner of Sts. Martha and Mary Catholic Church and a member of JFK Knights of Columbus. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the kind and dedicated doctors, nurses and staff of Trillium Health Partners - Mississauga Hospital, as well to the PSWs that provided home care.

Friends and family may call at the Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at Sts. Martha and Mary Catholic Church on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation and Trillium Health Partners - Mississauga Hospital.
