We have known Bill for over 50 years. He was a vivid cross country skier and sailer. Loves to entertain his family, friends, and business partners. Always showed interest in his friends activities and helpful in providing suggestions, opinions, and was always concerned about caring for others. Bill will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and business partners. He worked tireless to maintain business interests.
May God give Camille, family, and friends strengths to overcome the loss of her husband and friend.
Always John and Simonne

Camille our thoughts are with you and your family at this time. One of my ongoing memories of Bill will be his reaction when I always had to kiss the top of his head when we met - such a lovely spot. His joy of life and interest in us made our life better for having known him.
Rest in Peace Bill - you were loved

A Good-by to Bill

How do we say good-by to a dear friend when he left us so suddenly. But the time is never at our choosing and when it comes it hurts. We grieve with our friend Camille in the hope that our prayers make her great loss just a little bit easier to bear – if that is possible.
Bill and Camille were our good friends that we came to know more and more in our last years of our common ‘Boating Life’. Then, we would meet on the docks and sometimes cruise together and Bill would often bring friends and family visiting from Germany to our boat for an introduction and news from ‘home’. Always very interesting conversations with refreshments on the water. It helped our daughter get connected with Bills extended family in Munich when she moved there for an internship coincidentally in the same city.
As both our boating life came to an end, we continued to spend many occasions ‘on land’ with Bill and Camille, continuing to enjoy their company.
The story of Bill’s love of Mercedes cars must be told: My own image of driving a Mercedes was limited to sporting a Mercedes Star on the hood of my Pontiac. When Bill first saw me drive into our club parking lot, he seemed not pleased when he uttered in no uncertain terms “Paul! You can’t do that!”; but he softened up as we got to know each other more. When the time came that my trusted Pontiac was scrapped into a ton of steel it happened so fast I had no time to remove the Mercedes Star on my hood and the star got crunched! Bill heard my sob story and I am forever grateful when one day, on my birthday coincidentally, Bill dropped by at our house with a present: a brand new Mercedes Star hood ornament! I still have it today and as soon as I find my next Pontiac I will proudly mount it again and it will remind me of our friendship whenever I sit behind the wheel and look at ‘Bill’s Star’!
And speaking of ‘Stars’, one of Bill’s interest was in astronomy and he introduced us the regular meetings of the Royal Canadian Astronomical Society on Friday nights. Again coincidentally of interest for our daughter from her work in Munich at the European Space Agency there. We would meet at Tim Horton’s at Sheridan Mall and get chauffeured up to the Erindale campus in Bill’s white Mercedes to hear talk from world renowned space ‘geeks & nerds’ with PhD’s of Black Holes, Dark Matter, Super Novas, Red Giants, white Dwarfs, the end of the Universe and such. On the way back we would try to debate what it all means and came back to earth at Tim Horton’s where my Pontiac was waiting. Sadly now, I was just looking at the topic for the next Friday night meeting when I got the heart breaking news from Camille: “My Captain is Gone”. It just won’t be the same when Amanda and I go to the next lecture without Bill.
We will miss Bill a whole lot, his wry sense of humour was something to behold! He was so good at delivering it that it took me a long while to catch on and then it became wholly entertaining!
To Bill’s Family and Camille, thank you for letting us have a little bit of Bill in his later years. We always enjoyed his company and will miss him greatly. And Camille, you know we will be here at your side to help you in your grief in whichever way we can.
