In Celebration of

William (Bill) Leonard Daniels

June 9, 1932 -  July 24, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Bill Daniels announces his passing on July 24th, 2021, in his 90th year.

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife Gladys of 37 years, his 2 children Steven (Nancy) and Larry, and extended family children Cathy (Perry) and Jeff (Ellen). Bill will also be fondly remembered by his six grand children Brittany, Sara (Hieu), Megan (Mike), Haley, Emma and Liam and three great grandchildren Caelan, Gibson and Cuan. Bill was predeceased by his brother Robert of Halifax.

Bill was a man of many talents with an innate intelligence and curiosity which led to a variety of careers. In his youth, he embarked upon an exciting career in mineral exploration, bringing him to own several mines. When computers arrived to the market, Bill was fascinated and his enthusiasm led to a career as a computer programmer, creating programs and selling software. Along with his wife Gladys, he started a successful accounting business which was seen through until retirement in 1999. The following winters were spent in Florida enjoying the sunshine.

Bill’s greatest passion was playing basketball, which he played for over 70 years. Until the age of 80 he was playing pickup games with many younger than himself.

Bill was happiest being in the outdoors, spending time rock collecting, hiking, camping, and canoeing with friends and family. His curiosity and desire to travel took him and his wife, Gladys to explore every state in the US and every province and territory in Canada, including Nunavut. Wonderful trips were also taken to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, Ireland, Copper Canyon Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, several Caribbean Islands and St. Pierre & Miquelon.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held in the near future.

In honor of our beloved William (Bill) Leonard Daniels, this memorial has been associated with charities which the family holds close to heart. Love lives forever
In each memory and thought
Of the special ones
Who meant so much
and the happiness they brought.
Love lives forever –
it will never fade away,
For, in our hearts, our loved ones
are with us every day.
