In Celebration of

William "Bill" Foster

November 18, 1945 -  August 15, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bill Foster, who passed away on August 15, 2025, at the age of 79 in Mississauga, Ontario.

Bill was a devoted father to his sons, Matt and Dan, and a proud grandfather to Colton, Kinsley, and Sophie. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Sue, with whom he shared many cherished years of love and partnership. His love for his family was unwavering, and his quick wit and sense of humor brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.

A man of simple pleasures, Bill loved nothing more than spending time outdoors—whether it was a day on the golf course, fishing at his favorite spot, or relaxing at the trailer surrounded by nature and loved ones. His ability to find happiness in these moments was one of the many things that made him so special.

Bill will be remembered for his warmth, his laughter, and the deep love he had for those closest to him. His legacy lives on in the stories shared, the memories cherished, and the lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed.

The world is a worse place today than it was a week ago. I grew up with Matt, and Mr. Foster was our baseball coach. "Gentle" isn’t a word I would have used to describe him, but I knew he loved us all. He pushed me to be the best baseball player—and the best person—I could be. He always had a word of encouragement or a shoulder to rest your head on.

I played softball years ago and was put in center field because of my speed and quickness. For some reason, I just pictured Mr. Foster saying, “I love Trevor, but really?”

Matt, Dan, and family—my thoughts are with you. We lost a good one.

The first time I met Bill, it took me a while to get used to him and his humor. But I quickly found out just how caring he really was. A highlight for me was not only sharing chats, but we had breakfast at the same restaurant in Streetsville on the occasional Saturday. Goodbye Bill! And Thank You.
