In Celebration of

William A. (Bill) Oakley

March 6, 1920 -  December 16, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Oakley in his 98th year on December 15, 2017. Beloved wife of 66 years to Jackie (Shirley). Loving father of Lauren and Bill Miller of Mississauga, and Neil and Amani Oakley of Stouffville. Dear grandfather to Ashley, and Alexa and Alex. Predeceased by his parents Mabel and George Oakley and his sister, Peggy Cross. Bill was a veteran of WWII serving in the Royal Canadian Signal Corps. Upon his return to Canada, he resumed his career at Canadian General Electric where he worked until he retired. During retirement, Bill and Jackie loved to travel. Bill also spent many hours doing crosswords and jigsaws, catching up on current events and was also an avid sports fan. His greatest enjoyment though was spending time with his family. We will miss him dearly but he will be forever in our hearts. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel 4933 Dundas St. W., Etobicoke (between Kipling & Islington Aves) on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday at 3 pm. Cremation to follow. For those who wish, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Online condolences can be made using this website.
