In Celebration of

Wanda Maria Trejgo

September 29, 1932 -  April 9, 2016

Peacefully and with grace, Wanda passed away on April 9, 2016 at the age of 83. Wife of the late Wacław Trejgo, survived by loving daughter Halinka and her husband Waldemar, son Richard and his wife Diana, her grandchildren Tomas, Karoline and Alexander, her sister Jadwiga (Antoni), her nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Love and devotion towards her family was unconditional, she was thoughtful to all and always considered others before herself. Her strong Catholic faith sustained her throughout her life which she lived with unwavering strength and integrity.
Wanda (née Załęska) was born in Wilno, Poland (presently in Lithuania) and was the youngest of five children. Following the Second World War the family was forcefully relocated to Poznań, Poland. In 1958 she traveled to Montevideo, Uruguay to visit her brother, and there she met and married her husband. They soon afterwards moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina where their children were born and in 1970 they immigrated to Canada. The rest is history.
Wanda's family would like to express deep gratitude for special caregivers Nina and Krystyna who over the last years were a real blessing to our family. We would also like to sincerely thank the staff at Copernicus Lodge for their care, support and kindness of our Mamusia and Babcia. Please join us in celebrating a wonderful, kind woman on Wednesday April 13, 2016 6-9pm (rosary at 7pm) at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel; 2357 Bloor Street West (at Windermere, east of the Jane subway). Funeral mass will be held at St. Casimir's Catholic Church, 156 Roncesvalles Avenue on Thursday April 14, 2016 at 10:15am. In memory of Wanda, if desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or to Copernicus Lodge. God Bless!

It is with great sadness that we heard of Ciocia Wanda's passing. I remember like it was yesterday waiting at the Toronto airport, impatiently, as my mother was translating with customs officers as Ciocia and her two young children, Halinka and Richard, were immigrating to Canada. It seemed like hours, and it was, before Ciocia and the kids and my mother were allowed through. It was 1970, so long ago.
You are in God's hands now, and He will be with you for all eternity.
REST IN PEACE Ciocia Wanda...
