Waldemar Obrzut, 67, of Mississauga, passed away at Trillium Health Partners Mississauga Hospital on January 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was born on December 14, 1958, in Ścinawa, Poland, to the late Władysław and Cecylia Obrzut. In 1980, Waldemar married the love of his life, Hanna Cieślak, and together they moved their family to Canada in search of a better life. Waldemar was a devoted husband, a loving father to his sons Greg and Łukasz (Lexy), and to his daughter Carolina (Michael), and a proud grandfather to his granddaughters Alina and Tatiana, whose pictures he loved to show off to everyone.
Waldemar will likely be remembered most for the many people he helped throughout his life. He worked as a bricklayer and later became a foreman, contributing to many condominium projects across the Greater Toronto Area. Through his strong rapport with so many people, he helped countless individuals find jobs in the construction industry. After overcoming his own challenges, he built a close relationship with the Vitanova Foundation and became devoted in the pursuit of helping others. He always encouraged his children to do their best and helped them throughout their lives, but most significantly supporting them in their careers. His personal passions included coin collecting and jigsaw puzzles. Anyone fortunate enough to meet Waldemar knew he was truly one of a kind and left a lasting impact on many lives.
