It is with great sadness that the family of Vincent Isaacs announces his passing on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the age of 83. Vincent’s easy-going nature, infectious smile, and friendly spirit will live on in all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Vincent lived a life guided by love, gratitude, and quiet strength. In the same spirit, he faced the end of his journey with acceptance and intention, choosing to close this chapter when he felt ready, at peace with the life he had lived.
Vincent is predeceased by his beloved wife, Avril, and is lovingly remembered by his children Giselle (Christian) and Geoffrey (Karen), and by his cherished grandchildren Ariel, Michael, Safia, Tyler, and Lauren. He is predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Florence Isaacs; his sisters Hyacinth and Florence; and his brothers Maxie and Anton (Srimithi). Vincent is survived by his brothers Claude (Maureen, d.) and Francis (Leoni), and his sister Rita (Ralph). He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his extended family and many friends.
Born in Sri Lanka in 1942, Vincent immigrated to Canada in 1967, where he met the love of his life, Avril. They were married in 1970 at St. Mark’s Church in Etobicoke and shared more than 50 years of marriage, building a beautiful life together in Mississauga. Vincent was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren, spending countless hours walking them to the library, gardening in the backyard, and supporting them wholeheartedly in their academic, musical, and sporting pursuits.
Those who knew Vincent often spoke of his light-hearted spirit, warm smile, and great sense of humour. Always up for a joke, he loved sharing a laugh and bringing lightness to those around him. Vincent found great joy in his pastimes, spending hours in his garden and eagerly welcoming each spring with new plans in mind. He also loved his horse racing, football pools, and Pro-Line picks, enjoying the thrill of the game just as much as the anticipation of a winning bet. Above all, Vincent lived with a joyful enthusiasm that made being around him a pleasure and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
In his final weeks, Vincent received compassionate and attentive care from the nurses, PSWs, and staff at The Carpenter’s House Hospice. Time and again, staff shared how wonderful it was to care for him, describing Vincent as a kind and compassionate soul whose warmth made their work a true pleasure. We are deeply grateful for the dignity, comfort, and care provided to our father in his final days.
A funeral service for Vincent Isaacs will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Parish, 4072 New Street, Burlington, Ontario (L7L 1S9), with a reception to follow. The interment of ashes will take place at a later date, on May 22, 2026, with details to be shared closer to that time.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly invites donations to be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada in Vincent’s memory.
