The toast for Vic is simple--"to a life well-lived". I've know Vic through his daughter Wendy for over 40 years, and I know him to be a true Renaissance man. With his decorated service in WWII (the only veteran of the "big one" that I've known personally), his gamble to come to Canada with his wife and infant daughter Janice with $27 in his pocket, and his ascension to the top of the middle class, with distinction. He is a man of many stories, and a quick wit with a laugh that is always heartfelt. He also has the legacy and the love of his beautiful wife Helen, and his wonderful family & grandchildren. In particular, he had a 50 per cent stake in producing the most important person in my life, his daughter Wendy. His fierce determination to live independently till his 96th birthday--regardless of life's challenges and curveballs)--is something many people will never do , but most would certainly envy. Bravo!! Much love, we will all miss your spirit every day--rest peacefully.
We were very sad to hear of Vic's passing and blessed to have known him. Definitely a great storyteller!! Our thoughts go out to all three siblings + families at this tough time. A real honour! xo
Dearly loved and sadly missed by all who knew him.xx
After a long and fulfilling life . Rest in peace .
Love Patricia and Family
I feel that I have gotten to know Wendy's dad through her stories of his colorful adventures and passion for life. I know that he will be deeply missed by many. My condolences to his family and friends.
