Velta Agnes Smith born August 6, 1937 in Kingston, Jamaica, passed away peacefully, at home in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the age of 81. Adored daughter of Lipton Ho Sang and Viva Chin. Beloved wife of the late Neville Smith. Survived by children Debra (Paul), Denise (Ryan) and Garth (Catherine). Devoted grandmother of Danielle, Rebecca, Andrew, Oliver, Benjamin, Sophia, Henry and great grandmother of Roman. Also, siblings Victor, Dennis, Hilary, Lorraine, Jennifer, Beverly, Dolcie, Stephen, Michael and Margaret, and many other family members.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy. 10, N. of QEW) on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 2 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 3 p.m. Online condolences can be made through www.turnerporter.ca

So sad to know that Vleta has passed on, will miss our phone conversations and our lunch time get-to-gathers. Comes the time we have to answer this call and I know Velta will be happy to reunite with her beloved Neville.

I enjoyed taking hula classes from Velta even if it was for a short time as she moved back to Canada. She was a wonderful person and will be truly missed.
