It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Vanessa. She will be dearly missed by her mother Dale and step-father Steve. She is predeceased by her father Gordon Downey. Lovingly remembered by her sister Victoria, aunts Vita and Renata, and cousins Joanna and Kristina. Vanessa was a cherished great aunt to Isabella and Vienna. She will always be remembered for her infectious smile, intelligence, and gifted personality. Vanessa was a great friend to many and will be sorely missed.

Dale & Victoria, I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. I have no words to comfort you. Vanessa was a huge part of my daughter Karley life for years and years and a very special God Mommy to my grandson Cullen. I have so many wonderful memories of Vanessa over the years that I will cherish. RIP Beautiful Vee...Heaven has gained another precious Angel.

We are shocked and profoundly saddened by Vanessa's unexpected passing....Vanessa was an amazing young lady...she was gorgeous, remarkably intelligent and witty with a great sense of humour ! She was at our home on a daily basis during her Port Credit High years.....We visited many times when Vanessa was in hospital struggling with the worst form of diabetes one could have....I pray for Vanessa and her family ....shes resting in paradise and I send my deepest condolences to all who will sadly miss her ...xxoo
