<div itemprop="description">With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and Geechan. Tosh was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia to the late Matsu (Onishi) and Senjiro Uyeda. Predeceased by his brothers Tak (Betty), Mike (Alice) and Terry (Jackie). During WW II his family was interned in Hastings Park and Lemon Creek, B.C before moving to Crow&rsquo;s Nest Pass and eventually settling in Toronto. <br />Cherished and loving husband of 54 years to Margie (nee Okashimo). Loving father to Colleen (Alex), Mark (Gaila), Carey (Julie) and Diane (Paul). Beloved Geechan to Sean, George, Joey, Tosh, Lisa, Darin, Jesse, Cody, Megan, Blaine, Tamiko, Raiden, Justin and Ryan. <br />Tosh was an exceptional athlete excelling in all sports including badminton and tennis. He started badminton in 1950 at the Michel Natal School in Sparwood (Crow&rsquo;s Nest Pass). Tosh went on to win over 40 titles including the Canadian Senior &amp; Masters Open &amp; U.S. Senior International Badminton Championships as a 45 year member of the Boulevard Club. <br />Tosh was a pioneer in the Auto Appraisal Industry. Since 1958 he owned and operated National Auto Accident Services Limited. He was the innovator of the Drive In Appraisal Centres which in turn led to his owning and operating three Insurance Bureau of Canada Drive In Appraisal Centres. He further excelled and specialized in truck and heavy equipment appraising across Canada. <br />Tosh loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, golf and the many family camping trips to Northern Ontario. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and creating new adventures for them. He was the biggest fan at all of his grandchildren&rsquo;s sports and rarely missed an event. <br />Did someone say Vegas? Sin City will surely miss this avid winner! <br />Friends may call at the Turner &amp; Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service will be held Friday, March 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Toronto Buddhist Church, 1011 Sheppard Ave. W. Toronto. <br />In lieu of flowers or Koden, donations can be made to St Joseph&rsquo;s Health Centre, Toronto Buddhist Church or Princess Margaret Hospital. <br /></div>
