In Celebration of

Thomas Eric Lamb

August 6, 1921 -  August 8, 2017

August 6, 1921 London, Ontario- August 8, 2017 Toronto, Ontario
A man of grace, loving and much loved by his daughters and sons-in-law Clare (Hans Kunov) and Jane (Guillaume Bissonnette), his grandsons Julien (Jennifer Ho) and Michael Bissonnette, and his great grandsons Nestor and Felix, as well as by his surviving siblings Catharine Van Sickle, Carol Kunesch, and Wilfrid. Predeceased by his wife Jean (nee Dryden) to whom he was devoted for 63 years and by his brothers Harry (died in action WW2) and John, and his sister Judy Pelletier. Uncle Tommy will be missed by his nieces and nephews – 3 from the Dryden clan and 18 from the Lamb clan. Tom was a decorated veteran of WW2 (anti-aircraft battalion). A people person, he had a notable career in marketing at Stelco for 40 years in Montreal, Saint John, Vancouver and Hamilton. He was active in Rotary, and was made a Paul Harris fellow in 1984 and an honourable life member of the Hamilton Rotary Club in 2005. Tom lived in Burlington for 50 years where he had many friends from golf, bridge and neighbourhood activities. He will always be thought of as a gentleman and gentle man, and was a charming person until his last breath. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre (K3E) for their superb care during the past 2 1/2 years. Special thanks to Lisa Stahlschmidt who has promised to continue visiting him on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays when she goes to heaven. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 2 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service in the Chapel at 3 p.m. If desired, donations in Tom’s honour may be made to the Rotary Club of Hamilton Sunshine Fund, the Sunnybrook Foundation Veterans Comfort Funds, or the Parkinsons Society Canada.

Carol and David Cuthbertson (Niece and fortunate nephew by marriage)

Entered August 9, 2017 from North York

A man with all the grace, intelligence, humour and kindness seldom seen these days. A tremendously hard worker, a leader, a family man. Our thoughts and prayers are with his sisters Carol and Catharine, brother Wilf and all of their families.

'Uncle Tommy' and his wife, Jean, were good friends of my parents, Mavis and Russell Bain. I remember him as a very kind man with a great sense of humour. Back in the fifties and sixties, we went on numerous ski trips with the Lambs to Val David, Quebec and other locales. 'Aunt Jean' was a childhood friend of my mother, Mavis Barwick, growing up in Montreal. The Lambs were a wonderful couple. I will miss them both. My condolences to their children and extended family members.
