Peacefully, at Chartwell Grenadier, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Anne (née Ambrozic). Devoted father to Jonathan, Benjamin and Rachel (Mike). Adored grandfather to Sam Suto. Dear brother to Jennie Goguen (Leonard, deceased). Predeceased by his parents John and Weronika Kielb.

Following his parents’ emigration from Poland, Ted was born in Ansonville, Ontario (now part of Iroquois Falls) and spent his formative years in New Toronto after moving there as a youngster. He married Anne, the love of his life, on October 10, 1964, in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, and was extremely proud to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary just last month.

Ted attended the University of Toronto (B.A. Philosophy), then Osgoode Hall Law School as a member of the Class of 1964, with whom he recently had the pleasure of celebrating their milestone 60th reunion. He enjoyed a storied career in criminal law, both as a prosecutor and defence lawyer.

As hard as he worked, Ted always put his family first, ensuring that he was home by dinner time and able to take his children to various activities. He also volunteered as a baseball coach and created fond memories by turning the backyard into an outdoor rink over the winter.

Known for his sense of humour, Ted was also a great dancer, entertaining storyteller and true sports enthusiast. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his many wonderful friends and relatives. Ted will be deeply missed.

Friends may call Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel (2357 Bloor St. W, east of the Jane Subway Station, west of Windermere Ave.) Tuesday, November 19th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3055 Bloor St. W., Etobicoke, on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Sanctuary Park Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in Ted’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
