After an amazing 102 years of life lived, it is with deep love and sadness that we share the peaceful passing of Thelma at Winbourne Park Long Term Care on April 1st 2026.
Thelma was born at 6 York Street, Stockton on Tees in the County of Durham, England. The family moved to Canada in 1927. Thelma was surrounded by 3 brothers who kept a close eye on her but she met and married the love of her life Eric in 1943. For 48 years they enjoyed family events, travel, watching sports, time at Eric’s family’s farm and pool life.
Auntie Thelma will be lovingly remembered by family and friends. She loved to dance, play like a kid and made friends easily. She helped many others along the way so when it came time that she needed help, there were many to do so. Many thanks and much gratitude goes to the Westney Staff at Winbourne Park who cared for Thelma for 18 years. The smallest things, like keeping her TV on TCM for her old movies to be available, were never a problem.
Everyone should have an Auntie Thelma.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, Toronto, on April 10, 2026 from 10 am until time of Funeral Service at 11 am.
Interment to follow at Park Lawn Cemetery, 2845 Bloor St W, Etobicoke.
In memory of Thelma, donations can be made to a Charity of Your Choice.
