Terry passed away peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Gail. Much loved father of Allison (Jamie Bay), Kathryn (Travis Wheeldon), and Grace (Joseph Cressy). Loving grandfather of Kayla, Tyler, Connell, Clark and Jude.

Terry was born in Toronto and raised in Prescott and Kingston, where his father Paul worked for Bell Telephone. He was one of three spirited brothers along with Phillip Teddy (1944-2002) and Timothy James (born 1949). His mother Kathryn was a beloved and devoted mother and grandmother. Terry and his father and brothers worked together to build a rustic and well-loved cottage on Beaver Lake north of Kingston that was in the family for many years.

Terry met his wife Gail on a blind date in Ottawa in 1971, where they went dancing and talked all night. They were married for 50 years in July 2024.

Terry spent his career working in transportation and logistics, beginning with AlCan and Emery and later running his own business for many years. As a young man he served as a police officer in Kingston before returning to college.

He loved reading, spending time with family, swimming, any and all cats, and old films. He was a big presence, with many stories and jokes, and he will be dearly missed.

Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Neweduk- Erin Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 4:30 – 6 p.m. A Service to Celebrate Terry’s Life will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 1 p.m., followed by a reception.
