In Celebration of

Terrence Radey

March 20, 1938 -  January 7, 2018

Terrence (Terry) Michael Radey, 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Mississauga Hospital. He was born March 20, 1938, and raised in the Lindsay/Fenelon Falls area. Terry had been a Canadian Tire dealer for 32 years, and upon retirement, opened Slices N’ Scoops in Fenelon Falls. Terry eventually took up residence in Toronto, however he always kept the Kawartha Lakes area close to his heart, often dividing his time between the two. Terry was an avid classic car enthusiast and collector, whose passion for automobiles was apparent to those around him. Terry is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Radey, and daughter, Anna Radey. Family, friends, and all those whose lives Terry touched are invited to attend a memorial at The Old Mill (21 Old Mill Road, Toronto) on Saturday January 20, 2018 from 1-4pm. Online condolences may be made at www.turnerporter.ca

It was with much sadness that I learned of your dear husband and father's death. We are thinking of you with love and sympathy. May the wonderful memories that you have, of shared good times help ease the pain. My deepest sympathy.

Very sorry to hear about Terry's passing, I had many business dealings with Terry and always liked working with him. He was a true gentleman, very professional and always polite. He new a lot of history from the Kawartha Lakes area and I always found myself enjoying good conversation with him whenever we met, Fenelon Falls won't be quite the same without him.

For what it's worth, to the Radey family, I'm sorry to hear of the death of Terry. As a kid, both in Etobicoke, and later on Burnamthorpe Road in Mississauga, I met Mr. Radey through my (late) grandfather , Norman Durnan, (the insurance broker) many a time at the Canadian Tire stores.
But more intimately, I had the privilege of viewing Mr. Radey's extraordinary car collection with my grandfather as he appraised his cars. I would take notes as Mr. D (my drandaddy) looked over, under, and through-out Terry's wonderful collection. I recall in particular the handsome blue Cadillac Coupe (1935ish) in one of the barns. But I suppose nothing could compare to Terry's Dusenburgh, the first car Mr. D. ever appraised at a million dollars. I was there. And I typed it up.
I'm afraid Mr and Mrs. D are long gone (2001) as are their 1935 Auburn, (the first car I ever drove), the 1950 Bentley, indeed, all his cars.
Please know what a privilege it was to meet Mr. Terry Radey through his automotive passion (obsession?) May I ask what has become of his collection? I hope you are able to hang on to a few of your favourites.
Having lived in and worked in the Kawarthas, (Bobcaygeon) I certainly relate to Terry's affection for the terrain. There's no place I'd rather be.
Meanwhile, if I may, Sandra and Anna, I'm sorry for your loss, and I'm happy to have known him. Sincerely, Steve Janeck. (289 997 8003)
