In Celebration of

Terese Birute Palciauskas

January 31, 1947 -  July 8, 2018

Terese Birute Palciauskas, 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Trillium Mississauga Hospital.
Birute was born on January 31, 1947, in Kassel, Germany, while fleeing communist rule in Lithuania. She worked benevolently as a nurse, and her children and grandchildren were her ultimate love and joy. She found comfort and happiness devoting herself to her pets, hobby farm, and an animal shelter. Her own home often resembled a refuge for wayward animals such as raccoons, birds, cats, dogs, and a family of ducks. She overcame huge obstacles in her life and was a true survivor whose courage and determination lives on in the hearts of all she touched.
Betty was predeceased by her parents Leonas Palciauskas and Elena Bilevicius and one brother, Al Palciauskas. She is survived by her sister, Donna Slas and brother, Raymond Bilevicius, and their respective families. Also surviving are sons Jonas Lelis (wife, Nida, children Arija and Aleksa) and Danius Lelis (wife, Elena, children Levas and Ruta), and a daughter, Lisa Watson.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 16, 2018 at Church of the Resurrection, 1 Resurrection Road, Toronto beginning at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
Please consider making a donation to Etobicoke Humane Society in Birute's memory https://etobicokehumanesociety.com/. She would love to know more animals are being given a second chance, as most of her pets came from shelters or broken homes.

And when you know the wings you ride
Can keep you in the sky
There isn't anyone holding back you
First you stumble, then you fall
You reach out and you fly
There isn't anything that you can't do

My heartfelt condolences to all of you. Draw comfort from each other and cherish your beautiful memories. I will certainly cherish mine. It was an absolutely pleasure working with your mom over the last three and a half years. I will miss her dearly. We had some great laughs and conversations.

You will always be the big sister who gave me some of my happiest childhood memories. Our lives weren’t easy, but through it all, we somehow were able to bring some amazing people into this world. Rest In Peace my beautiful sister. Save me a seat at the table, and don’t eat all the vinigretas.

Once in a while you get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
Today and always, may loving memories bring you peace, comfort, and strength.
Condolences from the Zander Family.
