In Celebration of

Teresa Wierzbicka

On January 30, 2021, at 12:45 am, Teresa Wierzbicka left us to join her husband Jasiu, her mother Stanislawa, her sister Elizabeth and brother-in-law Zbyszek.

Our beloved Teresa came to Canada in 1989. She worked tirelessly in the Toronto's Polish community selflessly giving her time and effort promoting Polish culture and helping others, especially sick and mentally or physically challenged children in Poland.

Teresa was President of The Polish Women Federation, branch# 15 in Toronto. The Canadian Polish Congress decorated her with a bronze medal for promoting Polish culture in Canada. She was honoured with Order of Merit of Republic of Poland by President of Poland and decorated by the Poland's Minister of Culture and National Heritage with Honor Meritorious for Polish Culture for promoting Polish culture in Canada.

The money she collected yearly for St. John the Baptist Day (Wianki) was used to buy medical equipment for sick and terminally ill children in Poland.

Teresa was also a diver and set a Polish women's deep dive record (39 metres) in Lake Morskie Oko in Tatra Mountains in Poland.

Teresa leaves behind many family and friends in Canada and Poland who will always carry her memory in their hearts.

A private mass for the family will be held and closed to the public. For those who wish to view the mass, a livestream will commence on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. through www.kazimierz.org
