Tatiana Szuchewycz

April 19, 1931 -  January 13, 2022

Peacefully, on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Humber River Regional Hospital, at the age of 90. Beloved wife of Bohdan. Loving mother of sons Bohdan, George, Ihor and step-son Bohdan and daughters-in-law Zenia, Oksana and Jane Helleiner. Devoted grandmother of Natalie, Andrew, Nicholas, Michael, Kieran and Thomas.

Tatiana was born in Warsaw, Poland in 1931, and during the end of WW2 she was a courageous nurse who supported the 1st-Division of the Ukrainian National Army. After the war, she and her mother and father were in the internment camp in Rimini, Italy, where she originally met her eventual husband Bohdan. She and her family moved to England where she married her first husband, Rostyslav and then moved to Canada in 1959. She and Bohdan married in 1993. Tatiana was a member of various organizations that supported the Ukrainian community in Canada and Ukraine.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter ‘Neweduk’ Chapel, 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga), on Thursday, January 20th from 6:00 to 8:00. All guests must register online to attend the visitation and mass. Funeral Mass will be held at All Saints of the Ukraine Chapel, 1280 Dundas St. W., Mississauga, on Friday, January 21st at 10:00 am. My husband and I have worked with Ihor for many years. We know how close he was with his mother and have come to understand how important she was to him and his family. She must have been a special woman and mother. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
