Sylvia Margaret Minialoff (nee Jenkins)
A beautiful Wife, Mum and Granny. Sylvia Minialoff passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on December 17th after a very brief illness. Our Mum was a beautiful, compassionate, intelligent, athletic and artistic woman who was full of life and always laughing. She would do everything she could for not only those she loved but for anyone who needed her. Her kindness was spoken of often and especially appreciated by her church friends. Mum grew up in Bristol, England during WWII with her widowed Mum and together they came to Canada shortly after the war. At 15 she met the love of her life and married our Dad in 1956. Together they had 4 children - Kathryn (Bernie), Patti (Steve), Rob (Julie), Debbie (deceased in 2008) (Mike) and 6 grandchildren (Gavin, Jessica, Alex, Katie, Matt and Zoe). Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Mum could never sit still for long and in 1997 she completed her BA with Distinction at the University of Toronto. She loved to garden and was a gourmet cook, life with Mum was both beautiful and delicious. We were so blessed to have had a mother who was so kind, understanding and an incredible role model. We are so sad that we are saying goodbye to our Mum, it is too soon and we were not ready. The world is a better place because of what she taught us and because she was the wonderful woman she was. She can never be replaced and we and our Dad will miss her terribly. Many thanks to our aunt and cousin who were with us at my Mum’s side. Aunty Dorothy and Deedee we love you. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. West, at Windermere, east of Jane subway on Sunday, from 1-4 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, 477 Manning Avenue, Toronto on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 11a.m. Private interment Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Covenant house.
