It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Elizabeth Ross (née Mueller) on March 2, 2026, at Trillium Health Partners – Mississauga Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Susan was born on July 6, 1946, in Toronto and was the eldest daughter of Alan and Betty Mueller.
Susan was the wife of Sandy (Donald) Ross, who passed away in 2021, and the much loved mother of Mathew and Andrew Ross. She was a very special Nanny to Josh Ross and Andrew McHugh. Susan was the adored sister of Dave Mueller (Gloria), Rick Mueller (Sheila), Peggy (Meg) Mueller (Grant Uba), and Janice Mueller. She was also a dearly loved aunt, great-aunt, and godmother to many nieces and nephews.
Susan always had a deep desire to care for others. She loved her family deeply, especially her two sons, Mathew and Andrew. As the eldest sibling, she was a wonderful big sister who naturally stepped into a caring role and was always there to lend a helping hand.
Susan was a registered nurse who graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1967. She dedicated more than 40 years to pediatric nursing, caring for countless children and families at St. Joseph’s Health Centre and Etobicoke General Hospital.
Susan will be remembered for her calming presence, kind heart, and wonderful sense of humour. She was a voracious reader who loved spending time with her family and cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays.
A celebration of Susan’s life will take place on Saturday, March 28th at Turner & Porter, Peel Chapel. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan’s memory may be made to a SickKids: Hospital for Sick Children.
Susan’s kindness, compassion, and quiet strength touched the lives of many. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those she cared for throughout her life.
