Eric, Emma and Ryan,
There are no words to tell you how much Susan meant to me, how cherished our friendship was, and what an impact she made in my life. I send you my deepest condolences, and thoughts of love and peace. Our visits, and phone calls, and messages back and forth are precious memories.
We are so saddened to hear of Susan’s passing. When we think of Susan, the “warrior” image comes to mind for a number of reasons - first because she was “force” of nature, but particularly for how she handled her battle with cancer.
She was the one that first introduced our family to basketball over 10 years ago - something we are a part of to this day. Susan was always “loud and proud” in the stands, never missing a game cheering on Ryan and Emma! Her family was the centre of her universe and gave her immense pride.
If you see an angel with funky red glasses...you’ll know who it is.
May you Rest In Peace Susan.
Eric, Ryan and Emma our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Eric, Emma and Ryan,
I'm so sorry to hear about Susan's passing. She was such a pleasure to see and joy to spend time with. My thoughts are with all of you.
That is how I see Susan - the smile and the glasses. Always a smile.
I'll remember her stoicism, her zest for life, her call it like it is and above all her empathy and compassion. She was larger then life.
Eric, Emma and Ryan, you will be in my thoughts and heart.
Eric, Ryan and Emma -- I am so sorry for your loss. Susan was an incredible woman who meant so much to so many people. Susan was our first friend on Durie and the one person I continued to connect with and visit long after our family moved. Susan's sprite, wisdom, smiles, and say-it-like-it-is approach to life are what made her special and what helped our friendship endure distances and years apart. My heart is broken that I won't hear her laughter echoing through a room anymore. I'll cherish the time we had and the joy she brought to every visit, every text, every long talk in our backyards and porches. With so much love and adoration, Donna xoxo
