In Celebration of

Steve Vrettakos

August 27, 1969 -  August 15, 2018

Our beloved Steve Vrettakos left this earthly world on the morning of August 15, 2018 at the age of 48. With a resolute will, Steve fought a hard fight with pancreatic cancer. He was earnest in his love for life and for his son, Zacharias Steve. His journey with his loving wife, Argie Sofia, was just getting started when he received the news of his diagnosis. Whether you knew Steve for a lifetime or for a moment, his humanity was evident. He touched the hearts of many but he will be remembered most for his bear hugs. Steve was a kind, gentle, good humored, forgiving and loving spirit. His warm eyes, measured tone, soft voice and mild nature were in sharp contrast to his strong stature--earning him the affectionate title of 'gentle giant'. He was the consummate nice guy. He was a beloved son to Zacharias (predeceased) and Konstantina; brother to Eve (Tom); Peter (Denise); Anastasia (Michael); uncle to Isabella, Nicholas, Panagiotis; cousin to Kaliopi (Chris, predeceased), Gus (Vilma) and Helen (John) and many more; nephew to Uncle Louie (Sophia, predeceased). To many of us, Steve was a friend, and friends are all we can hope to see in the next world. He'll always be close to our hearts. Eternal love and gratitude to Chris, Debbie, Konstantin and Michael. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful home care team, caring friends, generous donors, thoughtful co-workers and kind strangers.

I am so sad that I cannot make it to the service. Steve was a beautiful soul and I hope he is at peace. It was such a privilege to know him and call him a friend. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers always. God bless you and until we meet again my beloved friend. Akal, Akal, Akal.

To Steve's friends and family,
How lucky we are to have had someone in our lives that makes saying goodbye so hard. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest, dear friend.
