Dear Joanne and Dave
I was heartbroken to hear of Joannes brother passing. Please accept my deepest condolences.
Know that you and your family are in our thought during this difficult time.
Steve always had a great sense of humor like his dad. Such a wonderful person. He was taken far too soon. Condolences to Pat and the family. May God be with you through this trying time.
It is with deep sadness that I sit here and write this note.
Stephen and I spent a lot of our childhood and early teens together being close in age. Stephen was like an older brother to me. We were buddies and simply enjoyed being together. Whether it was sleep overs at each others homes or time spent north of Toronto at the cottage near Minden on Little Horseshoe Lake. Fun could be found wherever we went. Whether it was playing in our family pool or in our backyard at Castle Hill Drive. At Stephen's home, there was his amazing and incredible model train set in his basement to play with for hours on end. We even found laughter while delivering the newspapers on his Toronto Star newspaper route. We enjoyed venturing downtown to the Exhibition together before a new school year started. There was the anticipated "Mama's Pizza" to be eaten in the Food Building! It was the highlight of our visit to the Ex. I can still remember listening to Stephen's new Chicago IX album during the summer of 1975 in the front room at Stanthorpe Court. We must have worn out the vinyl for "Saturday In The Park", plus his 45" of "Black and White" by Three Dog Night. There were also those memorable historical trips that Aunt Audrey took us on, to see Montgomery's Inn and the day trip to Brantford to see the old Bell Homestead. These trips help create my love for history. And there was always time available for playing with the Gorrie family dogs in their backyard. I loved those shelties. Darcy was my favourite! (If my memory serves me right!)
Stephen, I want to thank you for being the wonderful cousin and friend that you were to me. For all the good times, joy, laughter and cherished memories we shared. You will always remain in my heart. Forever!
With love, Brad (also Carole, Justin and Cameron)
Please accept our deepest sympathies on the loss of your husband Pat. May he rest in peace.

My heart was broken to hear of Steve’s passing…but I could only imagine in my mind the joy of Uncle Chuck and Aunt Audrey as they were reunited again with their son! ❤️
We have had many happy childhood memories from our youth and cottage days with Steve, Joanne and all the Gorrie clan of aunts, uncles and cousins.
God bless you in the coming days with peace. Love, Darlene
