Thinking of Bob and the family and holding you all in our hearts.
Steven will be greatly missed. Easy smiles, great conversation and so very kind. We enjoyed getting to know him and Heddy as the beloved grandparents of our daughter-in-law, Emma. We wish to express our sincere condolences to the McCutcheon and Haller families.
So sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I loved seeing him and Hedy at St. Stephens Church in Kitchener, singing with them in the choir and having good conversations with them both. Rest in peace my friend.
We are sorry for your loss, we hope his last few days were comfortable. Based on what we know of his children and grandchildren, he must have been a wonderful father.
Some people are gracious because the have to be.
Mister Haller though did not have to try. He was not only gracious but a man with a considerate, warm-heart, what my father would have called, a decent man, ein wahrer Mann.
Although I am saddened by his passing, I am happy that he lived just shy of one century, and did not, in all these years, retire from living a full life.
In his many years he gave unstintingly his love and consideration to his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren. And friends. I believe and hope I was one of them.
I am sorry I cannot attend his funeral but given that life and death are unknowable mysteries I hazard to guess that we will be meeting again.

Auf Wiedersehen, mein Freund. Ich werde Dich dort am Horizont bei der knorrigen Eiche einholen.
