Stanko Kolesar, Ukrainian writer, poet, historian, literary expert, editor, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and above all Ukrainian patriot, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. He dedicated most of his life studying and independently researching Ukrainian ancient history and literature, seeking the truth about historic events, systematically disproving Russian propaganda, and fending off misinformation from invaders long before the internet. But first and foremost, he always had a very strong conviction that the Ukrainian nation has what it takes to become an independent country and an unwavering belief that it can withstand any attempt to threaten Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
He wrote 10 books, mostly fictional stories from significant events of our nation’s history based on true facts, 8 of them have been published in Kyiv, Ukraine, and one in Toronto, Canada. He poured his legacy for the next generations inside his books just in time before suffering a devastating stroke in 2015 that left him unable to share his knowledge and wisdom with others.
May his strong faith in Ukraine and its people serve as an example for all of us.
May His Soul Rest in Peace.

22 го березня 2022го року, після довголітньої недуги упокоївся Станко Колесар, письменник, поет, учитель, редактор, а перш за усе великий патріот України. Дитиною він потерпів як очевидець насильного виселння з рідних Карпат у Польщу, т.з. Акції Вісла. Як дослідник історичної правди він усе життя протистояв російскій імперялістичній пропаганді та брехням загарбників. За це він був увязнений у 1982 році а опісля емігрував у Канаду. Усе життя у Станка була незломна віра у силу покликання нашого народу бути незалежним у своїй самостійній державі. Він написав 10 книжок, вісім виданих у Києві і одна у Торонто, Канада. Вони розказують про долю та змагання нашого народу за свої права та самовизначення повністю операючись на важливих моментах нашої історіі. У своїх творах він залишив спадщину для наступних поколінь.
