In Celebration of

Stanislawa Garbacz

April 17, 1923 -  June 4, 2020

It is with great sadness we mourn the passing of our Mamusia, Babcia, and Pra Babcia, Stanislawa Garbacz (nee Jach). Stanislawa passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late Stanislaw (2015). Loving mother to Lucy (Chester-2019), Krystyna, Mary (Ernie) and Alina (Gord). Dear Babcia to Kristen (Sam), Veronica, Sabrina (Nick), Julia, Jonathon and Nicholas. Adoring Pra Babcia to Gus and Elliana. Predeceased by her parents Wincenty and Zofia, and brother Jan in Poland.

Stanislawa was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada with her young family in 1961. Family and faith were very important to her. She cherished being surrounded by her loved ones – fond memories include time in her immaculate garden, pinching pierogies and baking honey cookies with her daughters and grandkids. Her recipes and stories of resilience will be passed down for generations to come. Stanislawa was an active member of St. Stanislaw Kostka Parish and devoutly attended Sunday mass.

The family wishes to thank the team at St. Joseph's Health Centre for the compassionate care Stanislawa received over these past few months.

Stanislawa leaves a legacy of love as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Due to current conditions, a Private Funeral will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020. To celebrate Stanislawa’s life, a memorial mass will be held at a future date.

Donations in memory of Stanislawa may be made to St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation.
