Passed away peacefully on Saturday September 23, 2017 in her 92nd year. Devoted wife of the late Andrzej. Loving mother of Jadwiga Hubert (Tadeusz), Anna Skalska (Sidney Fireman) and the late Malgorzata and Jacek Chociej. Cherished grandmother of Tom (Shantel), Anna, Greg and Zuzanna. Great grandmother of Uma. Stepgrandmother of Lori and Warren.

Danuta was born in Dzialoszyce, Poland in 1925. She met her husband Andrzej while still in her teens and married the love of her life soon thereafter. Although she was trained in accounting, she dedicated her life to her family. She often said that she was twice robbed of her youth: first by the war, and then by the Communists. She came to Toronto with her husband in 1992 to be with her family. Danuta had many interests including bridge, politics and literature, but her greatest interest was always her family. She was proud that her children were trained in law, pharmacy and dentistry. She will always be in the hearts of her family and many friends.

Friends may visit at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W. (east of Jane) on Thursday October 5 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, 156 Roncesvalles Avenue on Friday October 6 at 10:15 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Copernicus Lodge at www.copernicuslodge.com or a charity of your choice.
