In Celebration of
Stancil Annie Banting
October 13, 1922 -
May 21, 2016
At Age 93, in Toronto on Saturday May 21, 2016. Stancil, widow of beloved husband Howard Lloyd Banting, is survived by daughter Heather Banting of Boston, a granddaughter, Jennifer Banting (Miko Levine) of Los Angeles, a grandson, Jeremy Banting Levine of Vermont, as well as great-grandchildren Max, Micah, and Finnley. She is also survived by her beloved sisters Edith Morrison of Lively, Ontario and Margaret Stymiest of Ottawa and by many nieces and nephews and their descendants. Stancil was a loyal and devoted "family first" woman who always enjoyed vacation time with family, making sure each visit was special, and reserving plenty of one-on-one time with her beloved grandchildren. Before having a family Stancil taught nursery school. While raising her daughter she volunteered as a Brownie leader and gave her time to women's organizations and functions at Kingsway-Lambton United Church. At one point she took up golf and curling, but a major surgery curtailed her involvement with sports. Gracious hostess, with a generous heart, she was known to say, "If you want it, it's yours." Modest and unassuming Stancil was a strong woman who survived many serious illnesses and surgeries over her long life.
She will be greatly missed and cherished for being the heart and soul of her family.
