In Celebration of

Sreten " Steve" Stojanovic

March 13, 1948 -  April 2, 2020

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sreten “Steve” Stojanovic on April 2, 2020 at the age of 72 surrounded by his family and loved ones at home.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Mary-Louise. He was a caring and supportive father to Alexander (Anastasia), Erika (Alan) and Matthew. Adoring grandpa to Katerina “Kate” whose hugs could always make him smile as he continued to battle cancer.

He will be fondly remembered by his sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Steve was born in Machkat, Serbia and at the age of 16 immigrated to France to start a new life. He lived in France for 4 years attending school and at the age of 20, moved to Canada which became his permanent home. He was predeceased by his father Milan and survived by his mother Radenka.

Steve enjoyed playing tennis, swimming and keeping up on current events. Steve owned and operated a successful construction business for 30 years. Even on the weekends, you would find him working on one of his many projects around the house. Steve was a genuine, mild-mannered man (except for when the conversation turned to politics).

In lieu of flowers we ask you to donate to Princess Margaret Hospital, which provided such incredible and compassionate care for Steve. His family would also like to thank the Mississauga-Halton LIHN and the palliative team at the Dorothy Ley Hospice for making it possible to keep Steve at home with his family, during his final days.

We will be holding a celebration of Steve’s life when the current COVID-19 situation has been resolved.
