In the early hours of December 18th, Slav left us and floated peacefully to heaven.
To have known Slav was to absolutely adore him. He was the sweetest, most loving, and supportive soul—a Polish farm boy who came to Canada with twenty dollars, a suitcase, and a dream, as he always loved to remind us. He carved his own path in a new country and became so much more than just a father.
An entrepreneur at heart, he showed us that anything in life is possible if you are willing to work for it. He was a business partner, a mentor, a soccer teammate, and a friend.
Slav’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched. He had a rare ability to meet people where they were, offering guidance without judgment and wisdom without ego. A steady presence to many, he listened more than he spoke—and when he did speak, his words carried weight.
As a mentor, he led by example, believing deeply in discipline, integrity, and patience. He taught that success is built through consistency, humility, and doing the right thing even when no one is watching. He encouraged growth through quiet confidence in the potential of others.
As a friend, Slav was loyal, dependable, and deeply present. His humour, warmth, and calm perspective grounded others and brought comfort. Time spent with Slav was time well spent.
A man of deep integrity and a remarkable sense of humour, his gentle sarcasm could disarm even the most stressful moments. You could always laugh with Slav, and he always left you feeling better than before.
He died smiling, which speaks volumes about the man he was.
