In Celebration of

Skip Spiller

July 28, 1948 -  November 17, 2019

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Skip on November 17th, 2019. He was surrounded by the love of his family and friends, and was deeply appreciative and grateful of the care he received by his team at Mount Sinai Hospital. When given the shocking news in September, Skip chose to forego treatment and focus on the time remaining, and we have been awed by his bravery, joy, and generosity of spirit that he extended to us all.

Woven throughout his early years and into his university and work life, there have been three constant passions for Skip: music, skiing, and his fish aquariums. The diverse groups of people that knew Skip through the above will miss him greatly and his memory will be held true as they carry on.

Skip will be sorely and deeply missed by his loving mother Helen Booth, his brother Doug & sister-in-law Martha, his sister Wendy Fee & brother-in-law James, and his father Ernest and his wife Lorna. Skip felt lucky to be an uncle to Trina, Aria, Arthur, Reni, Zoe , Dillon and grand-uncle to Adi, Viva, and Hart. We will all cherish the laughter and togetherness we shared this past Thanksgiving and Skip will be kept close in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honour of Skip July 28, 2020.

To the Spiller family. Sorry to hear of your loss. It seems as though Skip did his best to leave a great legacy of beautiful smiles and happiness. Did now know him personally but remember well Ernest & Lorna through my business, went to high school with Wendy and now through another connection have met Joan Fee!
May you all eventually be able to remember Skip how he would have wanted. A loving, kind & brace human being.
He is now at peace.
Thinking of you at this sad time. Maria Alevisatos

Victoria Steffen (Cape May Jazz Festival Friend of Skip and Helen)

Entered December 1, 2019 from Cape May Court House, NJ

It seems only yesterday I was listening to spring and autumn Cape May Jazz Festival performances with Skip and Helen-thats how it all began but over the many years we managed to stay in touch and I always looked forward to reconnecting in June for Helen’s birthday. I will always remember Skip’s winning smile, sparkling eyes and warm disposition. Nobody could look more beautifully dressed other than perhaps Helen . They shared the same sense of style and love of life. I will surely miss him in my life.
