In Celebration of

Siril Manimendre

August 31, 1939 -  November 24, 2019

Siril Manimendre, 80, was born on August 31, 1939 in Marthara, Sri Lanka, to Thenaris and Karalin-nona Manimendre. He peacefully departed this earthly world on November 24th, 2019 in Mississauga, Ontario.
As a adult he was a world traveler. He worked as a craftsman in jewelry, married (late) Philomena Fernandes and raised their 3 children. He supported his wife’s evangelical ministry and together they served in many impoverished areas of the city bringing the love of Christ Jesus in tangible ways to others.
In Canada, he loved spending time with people, picked up foreign languages quickly, loved watching news, wrestling and frequented Tim Horton’s coffee with friends. He read his Bible and prayed for his family daily.
Siril was lovingly called “Papa” by his grandchildren and he delighted in hearing about them. He is survived by his siblings, three children, Sam Abiog, Jan Manimendre and Steiner D’souza, son-in-law, Rolly Abiog, daughter-in-law, Leanne Manimendre and son-in-law, Terence D’souza and his sweet grandchildren, Lauren Abiog, Sarah Abiog, Rachel Manimendre, Haley Abiog, Luke Manimendre, Esther Abiog and the D’souza children, nephew, Jerryboy D'Sa, nieces, Vinessa D’Sa and Valissa D’Sa and numerous relatives and friends.
His hearty laugh and bear hugs will be missed by all that loved him.
Cast your cares upon the Lord for he cares for you – 1 Peter 5:7

Life doesn't seem fair sometimes and I'm sure you are feeling as though this is one of those moments. Losing a father, although a profound right of passage in life, is losing a source of strength. To Jan and family - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. Please accept my condolences.
