Sheila Bernadette Bojanic (nee Devlin), age 78, of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, February 28, 2026, at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. She was surrounded by her family.
Sheila was born on March 8, 1947, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, a daughter of the late Edward Devlin and Sarah Devlin (nee Kane).
Sheila moved adventurously to Canada at seventeen to start a new life. As a young girl, Sheila loved Irish dancing, and it was at a dance in Brampton in 1966 where she met Sam, the love of her life. They had a wonderful life, and they raised a lovely family together. Sheila and Sam adored their family in Ireland and had many happy family visits in both countries over the years.
After Sam passed away, Sheila surrounded herself with friends and embraced adventure through travel. She sailed the high seas on luxury liners, meandered the Danube on a river boat, and stood in the Colosseum in Rome. Eventually, Sheila came full circle back to dance, which enriched her life with friends and fun.
Sheila is survived by her son, Peter, and his husband, Iain Jack; her daughter, Kimberly Watson; and her grandson, Owen Watson. Sheila is also survived by her brother, Raymond Devlin, in Belfast, Northern Ireland; her sister, Marie Dolan, in Dublin, Ireland; and many loving nieces and nephews in Ireland. Sheila was predeceased by her husband, Sam Bojanic, and her sister, Dorothy Devlin.
A visitation and vigil will be held at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel on Monday, March 9, 2026 from 3-6pm. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Church in Greencastle, Belfast, Northern Ireland.
