Samuel Adair

December 10, 1920 -  August 3, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel Reginald Adair, on August 3, 2020 at the age of 99.

Born on December 10, 1920 in Toronto, Ontario to parents Thomas Adair and Frances Adair (nee Tyrell).

Sam married the love of his life, Dorothy (nee Christink) on September 18, 1946 and raised two children.

He is predeceased by his parents, his wife, and his brothers and sister Alan (Dorothy), Frank (Doreen), and Holly (Ray Timmins).

Survived and lovingly remembered by his two children Samuel Jr. (Claire) and Diane, his brother Thomas (Helen), his grandsons Jamie (Stephanie) and Drew (Erin), his three great-grandchildren, Alexus, Ethan and Drew, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A war veteran, he served his country during WWII and received four medals.

Sam retired from CN Rail in December of 1985 after working there for 44 years as a carman. He and his family enjoyed many years of travel during his retirement.

An avid golfer, he once got a hole-in-one on Hole 17 at Lakeview Golf Course on June 20, 1988. Although it was to be his only one, it was a joyful day for him and his family.

Funeral service to be held at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel on Friday, August 7, 2020. Interment to follow at Glendale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
