It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Romas Simkus at the age of 87. Romas passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his family on November 27, 2019. He is reunited with his beloved wife Genute (2017) and cherished daughter Kristina (2012). Dear father to Vic (Asta), much loved brother to Irena Vibrys and brother-in-law to Rita Slapsys. Cherished Diedukas to grandchildren Daina, Vytas, Romas, Zara and Andriejus. Romas will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews as well as good friends.
Romas had an endearing smile and a wonderful sense of humour that his family and friends will sorely miss. He was an accomplished soccer player in his youth, excelled at golf in later years and was a formidable card player, often leaving his opponents with empty pockets! Gone but never forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, 1 Resurrection Rd. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m.
