In Celebration of

Rosemary Ann Drozdoski (nee Zwarych)

August 25, 1945 -  December 9, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rosemary Drozdoski on Monday December 9, 2019 at the age of 74. Predeceased by husband Earl, loving mother of Trish (Gary) Sullivan, Grant, and Brent (Kelly) Martin. Dear sister-in-law of Stan. Proud Baba of Kodi, Morgan, Kieran, Neil, Sean and Heather. Rosemary will be missed by extended family and friends.

Rosemary always worked her adult life, but she didn’t really start her life’s work until she decided to go back to school to train to be a personal service worker. She excelled in the classes and was quick to find employment once she graduated due to the raving recommendations from her training placement while completing her diploma. She loved working with the residents in the retirement community however she found it was hard to be there when it conflicted with her need to spend time with her family and to celebrate her faith.

An opportunity presented itself at Notre Dame Catholic High School in Brampton. She found herself working with children and young adults that needed a special hand up. Rosemary became an Educational Resource Worker and was in her element. She went on to work at Our Lady of Fatima School and eventually to St Edmund Campion Secondary School. Rosemary saw the child and not the disability, advocating for them when they couldn’t and put her heart and soul into giving each child that she worked with the best that she had. Rosemary saw what was needed and she did it. If there was a piece of equipment that was difficult, she was the first to offer to use it. Nothing was too time consuming or difficult to learn for the kids, Rosemary was their champion. She treated the kids with respect and was extremely protective of them. Rosemary earned the respect of her coworkers and many of them are cherished friends.

Rosemary did everything with heart. She always knew what needed to be done. She was very active in the church volunteering her time making perogies, making sweets, serving coffee and baking pies for the Christmas Bazaars. Her faith was an important part of who she was and she participated in several retreats in Ancaster with the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate.

Rosemary’s passion was sharing time with her family, cooking delicious meals and baking amazing apple and cherry pies. She was an amazing cook and baker. Her family was her everything and she loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart.

Friends are welcome at Turner & Porter Neweduk Chapel (1981 Dundas St. West, Mississauga) for visitation on December 13 (2-4, 6-8 with prayers at 7:00) and funeral service at St Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church on December 14, 2019 (11 am).
Donations requested in lieu of flowers to The Alzheimer’s Society or a charitable foundation of your choice.

My heartfelt condolences are extended to Rosemary’s family. I had the honour and privilege of working with Rosemary at St Edmund Campion. Rosemary was a magnificent person who took care of everyone around her, students and co-workers alike. She was truly a force to be reckoned with if you could keep up with her unending, unmatched energy and was always willing to do what ever was needed to be done! Rosemary’s gentle loving touch, advocacy, and respect was felt by everyone she encountered. She will truly be missed.
