In Celebration of

Rose Docherty

October 1, 1937 -  July 24, 2018

Rose passed suddenly on Tuesday, July 24, after a year-long battle with lung cancer, at Credit Valley Hospital, at the age of 80. Beloved wife of 60 years to Harry, recently achieving their Diamond Wedding Anniversary on July 17th, and proud and loving mother to Lynn (deceased 1994) and Karen.

Rose is fondly remembered by her large extended family and many friends in Canada, the U.K. and elsewhere. Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, Rose had made Canada her home for over 45 years and was an active member of The Irish Club of Mississauga, especially when line dancing, darts, or a sing-song were involved. Her generous baking and knitting talents will also be greatly missed by many.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Neweduk-Erin Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas St W., Mississauga on Sunday from 5-8pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, 2300 Burnhamthorpe Rd W. on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 11am. A private cremation ceremony will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank Dr. Asha Gupta and the entire team for their dedicated and compassionate care throughout. For those who wish, donations made in Rose’s honour to Ian Anderson House or the Palliative Care Unit at Credit Valley Hospital would be appreciated.

My Aunty Rose was an elegant and very kind lady who had time to sit and listen and give sound advice she helped me get over the loss of my parents with understanding and love and I will miss my chats with her but she will always be with me and her bravery at fighting her illness was a inspiration RIP Aunty Rose 🌹 Jamie xxx

My Auntie Rose is a kind and loving person and always had time for people. When I lost my Gran she stepped in to be the supporting person she is and always said she and my Gran would be proud of me. She cannot be replaced but I know now she is sipping a cup of tea with my Gran talking about us all and watching over everything we do. She will always be in my heart and I send all my love and light to her and family at this difficult time.
