It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved, Rodolfo "Rudy" Relente Yap. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and tito. Rudy was born in Cebu, Philippines on September 05, 1949 to the late Piedad Relente and the late Francisco Yap. Rudy is remembered as a patient, dedicated and caring husband to Encarnacion. He was a loving and kind teacher to his children, Sharon (Richard), Rodolfo Jr. (Maria Teresa), Valerie (Matthew) and Justin (Paola); and a protective, nurturing, and affectionate grandfather "Lolo Papa" to his grandchildren, Angelina, Angelo, Angelica, Miguel, Madeleine, Jasmine, Russell and Rosie. He is remembered as a generous and loving brother by his siblings Angelita, Emmanuel, Carlos, Ramon, Pacita, Cynthia, Michael and predeceased by Eduardo and Edda. He is also lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rudy finished his Mechanical Engineering studies at The University of San Carlos and subsequently worked with Mobil Oil in the Philippines and the Middle East, a career spanning over 30 years which enabled him to travel extensively all over the world.
Rudy is a selfless man who always made decisions based on the best interest of his family. On July of 1992, he moved his entire family to Toronto, Canada to provide a better life for his wife and children. This was always Rudy’s goal and he worked steadfastly to achieve this.
There is nothing more in life Rudy enjoyed most than spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved celebrating birthdays and holidays with his family, as well as going to all-you-can-eat buffets and traveling.
Those who have had the pleasure of meeting Rudy speak nothing but high praises for him, describing him as a man with integrity, good natured, well-spoken, and a good friend. He is a well loved man and his presence with us on Earth will be sorely missed.
We honour your presence to celebrate this magnificent man, Rodolfo "Rudy" Relente Yap.
