Passed away peacefully on May 28, 2014 with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Greta for almost 60 years. Dearly loved Dad of Dorothy Stasiuk (Tom) and Diane Leith (Dan Yantzi). Much loved, fun and wise Grandpa Bob to Cristin and Caitlin Stasiuk and Katie and Matt O’Reilly. Predeceased by brother Andrew Leith. Lovingly remembered by cousin Alex Morrison of Scotland. Bob was born in Kilmarnock, Scotland and emigrated to Canada in 1948 with his parents, Andrew and Helen, and settled in Toronto. Bob and Greta’s love affair began in Scotland, at age six. Greta returned to Canada in 1952, and they were married in 1954. Bob and Greta had a wonderful life together and their loving marriage was a great inspiration to their family and friends. Ever the entertaining couple, wherever they were, their home was always full of laughter and cheer. Bob was a large part of the printing and typography industry in Toronto for all of his career. Special thanks to the Dr’s and “five-star” nurses of 4east and 4west of Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their kind and compassionate care, and Dr. Nathan Snyder for his support and guidance.
Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Neweduk-Erin Mills” Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. W., Mississauga (just east of Erin Mills Pkwy., 905-828-8000), from 5-8pm on Friday. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 3 pm followed by a reception. For those who wish, donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated
