Robert, born on March 3, 1932, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, at VIVA Retirement Home in Mississauga. He was a man devoted to his family, placing their love and well-being at the center of everything he did. A beloved husband to the late Faye Kipp and loving father of Lori Kerr (Jon), Lisa Doyle (James) and Brad Kipp (Yuni). ‘Poppy’ will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Gavin, Brynna and Teagan Kerr, Meghan Acton and Amanda Pearse, Nikki, Ryan and Olivia Kipp, Megan and Hannah Doyle and several great grandchildren.
He earned his Pharmacy degree from the University of Toronto and later co-owned three pharmacies in Kitchener–Waterloo.
During their 60 years in their Waterloo home, he and Faye lovingly cultivated their passion for gardening, a pursuit that earned them recognition on local garden tours.
Robert then moved into VIVA just over nine years ago and thrived as an active community member, including serving on the Resident’s Board. Robert liked nothing more than spending time with his VIVA friends playing euchre and board games. He was an avid reader and enjoyed the theatre.
Above all he will be remembered for his gentle and caring demeanor. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched. Robert will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Our thanks to the many wonderful VIVA staff who cared for him and became his trusted friends.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
