In Celebration of

Robert Irving MacDonald

January 27, 1929 -  November 12, 2017

Passed away suddenly, with family and friends by his side, on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at the Trillium Health Partners- Mississauga, at the age of 88. Bob’s passing has left his beloved wife Denise heartbroken but grateful for their 61 years together, a journey that was simple and happy. Also survived by his brother George MacDonald of Nova Scotia, and sorely missed by many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in River John, N.S., among a family of nine children, Bob spent 39 years with Scotiabank, retiring as a supervisor. He served as a member of the board of directors of both the Lakehead School of Nursing and the Port Arthur General Hospital (1974-79), and was a member of the Lions Club, the Etobicoke Gyro Club and the Mississauga Central Probus Club. Golfing and curling were among Bob’s favourite past-times, but nothing gave him more pleasure than the many happy days spent with Denise at their cottage in Nova Scotia. A private family service will be held on Friday, November 17. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Ian Anderson House (Oakville) or the Trillium Health Partners Foundation (Mississauga).
