Robert 'Bob' George Sanders Penwill

September 28, 1921 - July 19, 2019

In his 98th year, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019. Devoted husband of Gert (2018). Loving father of Paul (Ronni) and Grant (Mary). Proud grandfather of Sara (Mike), Alyssa (Colin) and Amanda. Great grandfather of Anna and Grace. Brother of the late Edward (Mary) and Arthur (Audrey).

Active in all aspects of the St. Peter’s Erindale Anglican Church, a member of the choir, handbell ringers and sidesperson. Bob was also an active member of the First Erindale Scouting Group for many years.

The family would also like to thank the Village of Erin Meadows and staff for their care of Bob during his last few months; the LHIN Care Partners, and especially Dr. Parbaljit Sidhu.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to your favourite charity.

Please accept my deepest condolences to Bob Penwill's family. He was an amazingly tolerant and positive figure. Our scout group would've probably tried the average adult.His leadership was first-rate and he was one of those positive influences that has left me with a life long commitment to doing the right thing with a sense of grace. He was one of those mentors who has stood the test of time. Once again, my sincerest prayers to the family. He was a dedicated community leader, who will not be forgotten.

I have many fond memories of Bob's guidance over the years with both the young boys as well as administratively in the Scout Group's operation. He made a difference !!

To The Family of Robert Penwill,
I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Penwill. Unfortunately, I just heard of it today (August 29, 2019). Mr. Penwill was my Cub Scout Leader in the 1970's. He worked with my father to run the Cub Pack. I remember him as a kind and gentle person. I ran into him on a few occasions at St. Peter's over the years and he always remembered me and always took a few moments to talk. I know he was involved with the First Erindale Scout Group for many years was very dedicated to Scouting. My deepest Sympathy.
