Coach will always be remembered firstly as a true family man, eager to share stories filled with pride about his family. He would also share stories about his love of sports, especially baseball, always gentle in his thoughts, the rest of us knowing just how many he coached and mentored along the way. We will miss that twinkle in his eyes and the love he shared with all. You will be missed, but greatly remembered.

My sincere condolences to Dick's family during this difficult time. Dick was my coach for only two years with the Orleans Rebels. He was our coach during the only year that I won a national championship medal. Dick was a big part of our success.

On a more personal note, Dick did a lot for me. He wrote me reference letters for university scholarships (including one of the back of a cocktail napkin), emailed me softball tips and even sent me a very nice note when I got married - he liked that I had chosen a baseball player.

I hope that it assists Dick's family to know just how many lives he touched over 60 years as a coach.
