Renate Wegner

August 19, 1947 -  February 7, 2023

Renate passed peacefully, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at home, at the age of 75. Beloved wife of Gerd. Devoted mother to Lisa. She leaves behind family in Toronto, Austria, Germany, Brazil and USA.

She was a teacher at Humberside Collegiate for 35 years. She was a force who loved to read and recommend books, feed and care for her friends and family.

Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 2pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 3pm and reception to follow.

In high school your place was like a second home to me, Mrs Wegner made me feel well-fed (!) and cared for. Through the last 30+ years she continued to welcome me when I was in Toronto, including this Christmas when she still managed to sit at the table with us despite her condition , I can’t believe I won’t see her on my next visit. I’m sending you so much love and holding you both in my thoughts.
