In Celebration of

Regina Stabas

September 17, 1930 -  April 11, 2021

Regina Stabas, nee Grigaraviciute, left this earth on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Saint Josephs Health Centre in Toronto at age 90. This difficult time of covid prevented family from being by her side. We thank the doctors and nurses for caring for Regina when family could not physically be there.

Regina leaves behind her loving, heartsick daughter Violeta as well as her nieces Irene and Virginia and their families.

May angels wings carry you to the other world where you will be free from pain and where you can hug and join hands with your parents, sisters and husband who have been waiting for you.

I remember when we all sang together in "Varpas". What a wonderful time that was!
My heartfelt condolences to Violeta, and her niece Irena, whom I know has assisted her family tremendously! God be with you at this difficult time.

Dearest Violet,

Your mother's beautiful sense of elegance and stoicism will forever stay with me. She carried herself with grace and pride throughout my life.
She made the best chicken wings I've ever had which I will crave always!
I have so many fond memories of the warm way I was always welcomed into her home, of the many Christmases and Easters spent with joy in her company.
I will always hold dear the way she spoiled all your pets- giving them home made meals and goodies. She had a soft spot for the fur babies in her life.
It gives me a sense of sorrowful comfort to think of her reunited with her siblings now, and I hope she gives granny a hug for me.

We love her, and you Violet.

With deepest sympathy,
Alana and Matt

Beloved Teta ir Kriksto Mama Regina, I will always treasure the evening where I was able to FaceTime with you on the Friday before you left this earth. You were a shining light. I can just imagine your sisters, my mom your eldest sister and your little sister waiting for you as you closed your eyes for the last time.

I don't know if there is a heaven, but I hope there is a special place, then I know you are there with your sisters, baby brother, mom and dad and your loving husband. So many had left before you did. I pray they encircled you with their love and welcomed you home.

I know how much your loving daughter Violet misses you. Please send her a sign to give her hope and strength.

To where you are Teta. You are loved.

Your Irena

Teta Regina,

I have so many memories of you, its hard to know where to start. To try and formulate the words .... that you are now gone is hard to even comprehend. The middle sister. The last sister. It fills me with an emptiness more than you know, but my hope is that you are reunited where ever you are with those sisters, and that, again you can be the 3 best friends once more.

The 3 of you escaping Lithuania during the war, with your parents, when you were so young. Travelling the many miles by foot and small horse drawn cart to a new country. Then you and my Granny leaving your younger sister and parents behind to try and find work elsewhere and help the family. All that, took a strength I will never know. The stories I heard of what you all went through then, and what all you ladies went through years later and endured, showed me that we come from a line of strong women. Such strong women. And I could not be prouder to be related to all of you. And knowing Evangeline has that in her veins too, makes it so much more incredible.
You passed on that strength to Violet. She is strong, and has it in her to make it through all life throws at her. Its in her veins too and the veins of all of ladies here to support her.

I will hold so dear to my memories of how well you took care of us at your house for huge family meals, even the time you tripped and I got a whole bowl of rice on my head. And I will keep in my heart the time I came to use Violet's computer for school work, and in the few hours I was there the amount of food and drinks you brought me every 15 mins to make sure I was ok, was you all summed up in who you were. The caretaker of so many, the generous, the kind.

Take care of your Sisters, Mom and Dad now that you are with them. We will all miss you greatly. (And give a special squeeze for me to my Granny, cuz I miss her so much.)

Love, Aisha
Wil and Evangeline
